Jails in the Netherlands Facing the Fate of Shutdown
Recently, I found a piece of interesting news on the Internet. Jails in the Netherlands are facing the fate of shutdown because the number of criminals is not enough. Dutch government even has to import criminals from other countries, such as Belgium and Norway. That means the crime rate in the Netherlands is quite low. Therefore, I was really curious about this event, and I wanted to find out the causes of low crime rate in the Netherlands. The news said the Dutch government decided to shorten the term of imprisonment, the time criminals has to stay in jails. This measure for sure effectively makes the crime rate be lower down. What makes me more curious is whether the measure could also come to the same effect in Taiwan.
