Abstract

In this paper, we propose a method of protecting multi-ROI in images.  When a user selects one or more ROI to protect, this system will not only extract the characteristic values in ROI based on the DCT but also transfer whole image based on the block-DWT.  And then the system will hide some characteristic values of ROI in the middle or high frequency domain on the image after block-DWT, and it can’t be found out the difference by other users.  If this image is tampered, the system can not only recover the tempered ROI but the difference between the quality of recovered ROI and the original image will not be discovered by human eyes.  The proposed system can detect the tampered region and recover it without ascertaining the original image.  The process is simple and efficient.  Besides, the recovered quality of protected ROI is very well.
