Teaching Chinese is not a no-sweat job for me. The school does not provide any teaching materials for me so I have to spend a lot of time making flash cards. The most challenging thing is to make students have interests in learning. A boy always comes to my class punctually, but he refuses to learn. He does not participate in any games. Today after I asked him not to bang on the wall, he hid in the bathroom during the break. I talked to his grandfather and gave him a set of Chinese DVDs as a gift so he could listen and practice at home. Now I really think an office job isn’t so bad comparing to teaching Chinese to a bunch of kids who don’t want to learn.
