After some years of not visiting Vegas, I finally found the chance after Grand Canyon to revisit
After leaving Grand Canyon Sunday morning at 8am, I got to Vegas city limit by 12:30pm
Had to stop by Poke Express on Craig Ave. in north Vegas again (yes, I was there on Thursday on my way to Grand Canyon) to get more of its delish poke varieties
They are so addictive and fresh, I wolfed down everything as soon as I got into the car (it is not a restaurant therefore no seating)
It's out of the way but if you were ever in Vegas and love raw tuna, you MUST give it a try!
My lodging is Tuscany Casino and Suites on Flamingo Ave., just off the strip
other than the 3pm check in time, I love it!
the value was tremendous; after 50% off plus tax, my room was under $40 a night (additional $13 resort fee can't be waived)
It has many parking spaces among the buildings (there are at least 10 buildings on site) therefore no need to walk for miles to get to your room
The room was LARGE with a kitchenette and sitting area, seperate shower and tub
the carpet was new-ish and fresh; the bed and pillows comfortable
the only blight was the TV; not enough channels and isn't the LCD type (old tube TV)
The pool was a good place for sun bathing, which I did after checking in
There's also a seperate lap pool for exercising
The guests are mostly middle aged to older aged, not many young hot bodies, which is good for MY EGO
Compared to most of women I saw, I felt comparatively hot ;-)
Did not try any of the 4 eateries at this place even though one offers a Sunday special of 16oz porter house steak for $9.99; too many eateries in Vegas to choose from
Zumanity in New York New York was a hoot! A very raunchy, naughty, and adult themed show with LOTS of tits, arses, and hot beefcake bods
The theater was beautifully decorated and the performers were excellent
Cirque du Soleil must have it in its contract to forbid female dancers/performers to have breast enlargement
All the female dancers/performers have very lean and small breasts
The years of training as acrobats and dancers will drain all the fat from a female body, the boobs can't be spared
After the show I went to Sushi Goyemon on Decature Blvd. to have ACYE sushi
Not a fan of fancy rolls so I sticked to nigiri and hand rolls
Because it's a pretty popular joint, the fish was very fresh and in decent quality
its grilled pork belly was really, really good, too, a must try!
I also got a bottle of cold sake to go with my food
To top off the meal I had 3 deserts (no worry, small portion) before calling it quit
BTW, ladies, eating alone is NOT a bad thing
I always dine alone and never had a bad time doing it =)
Monday morning I was too tired and eager to get home to try Omelet House for breakfast even though I'd love to have Popeye Omelet with pumpkin muffin!
The place is near north Vegas so I had to back track north and then drive back down south
Instead I went to Farmer Boys, a small chain eatery, for a simple hotcake combo (2 big pancakes, 2 eggs, 2 bacons, and coffee) before hitting 15 south going home
That breakfast sustained me all most the whole day!
I normally eat every two hours because I usually get hungry every two hours
American style breakfast is so dense with calorie that it lasted in me from 10am all the way to 4pm!
To conclude, Vegas is good place to relax, pending on what one wants to do
So many good shows and good eateries plus a decent pool scene (not the hot body kind of pool scene, too intense) is what I call a good time
Now that I am used to drive for hours to do hikes, I can see myself driving back to Vegas (4 hours is nothing!) if I can find another cheap room rate at Tuscany =)
