第四十章 Genesis 40
1.這事以後，埃及王的酒政和膳長得罪了他們的主埃及王。
Some time later, the cupbearer and the baker of the king of Egypt offended their master, the king of Egypt.
2.法老就惱怒酒政和膳長這二臣，
Pharaoh was angry with his two officials, the chief cupbearer and the chief baker,
3.把他們下在護衛長府內的監裏，就是約瑟被囚的地方。
and put them in custody in the house of the captain of the guard, in the same prison where Joseph was confined.
4.護衛長把他們交給約瑟，約瑟便伺候他們；他們有些日子在監裏。
The captain of the guard assigned them to Joseph, and he attended them. After they had been in custody for some time,
5.被囚在監之埃及王的酒政和膳長二人同夜各做一夢，各夢都有講解。
each of the two men－the cupbearer and the baker of the king of Egypt, who where being held in prison－had a dream the same night, and each dream had a meaning of its own.
6.到了早晨，約瑟進到他們那裏，見他們有愁悶的樣子。
When Joseph came to them the next morning, he saw that they were dejected.
7.他便問法老的二臣，就是與他同囚在他主人府裏的，說：「你們今日為甚麼面帶愁容呢？」
So he asked Pharaoh’s officials who were in custoday with him in his master’s house, 「Why do you look so sad today?」
8.他們對他說：「我們各人做了一夢，沒有人能解。」約瑟說：「解夢不是出於 神嗎？請你們將夢告訴我。」
「We both had dreams,」 they ansered, 「but there is no one to interpret them.」 They Joseph said to them, 「Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell me your dreams.」
