I came to the US during high school. My first impression of LA was very large, very impersonal. Before arriving, I have begged my parents not to leave where I was, but my father explained that there would be better opportunities here and less pressure going to school. Funny looking back, the lack of "pressure" and "more" opportunities did not make my life any easier. What I might have gained in those areas I lacked in true friendship.@-)
