Bondi lords it over every other beach in the city, despite not being the best one for a swim, surf or, damn it, a place to park. The suburb itself has a unique atmosphere due to its mix of old Jewish and other European communities, dyed-in-the-wool Aussies, New Zealanders who never went home, working travellers and the seriously good-looking. Bondi has shed much of its previously seedy facade-a lick of paint, some landscaping and flash cafe's set it up to be 'rediscovered' by the world.
