Vagoglossopharyngeal Neuralgia. Formerly called glossopharyngeal neuralgia, the syndrome of vagoglossopharyngeal neuralgia occurs less than one-eightieth as often as idiopathic trigeminal neuralgia and is an affliction of sensory, autonomic, and motor fibers of the ninth and tenth cranial nerves. The onset is usually in the fourth decade, with there being no apparent predilection for either sex.The left side is involved more frequently than the right, and both bilateral pain or combinations with idiopathic trigeminal neuralgia are rare. ~o)
