第八章 Deuteronomy 8
1.「我今日所吩咐的一切誡命，你們要謹守遵行，好叫你們存活，人數增多，且進去得耶和華向你們列祖起誓應許的那地。
Be careful to follow every command I am giving you today, so that you may live and increase and may enter and possess the land the LORD promised on oath to your ancestors.
2.你也要記念耶和華你的 神在曠野引導你這四十年，是要苦煉你，試驗你，要知道你心內如何，肯守他的誡命不肯。
Remember how the LORD your God led you all the way in the wilderness these forty years, to humble and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands.
3.他苦煉你，任你飢餓，將你和你列祖所不認識的嗎哪賜給你吃，你便知道，人活著不是單靠食物，乃是靠耶和華口裏所出的一切話。
He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.
4.這四十年，你的衣服沒有穿破，你的腳也沒有腫。
Your clothes did not wear out and your feet did not swell during these forty years.
5.你當心裏思想，耶和華你 神管教你，好像管教兒子一樣。
Know then in your heart that as a man disciplines his son, so the LORD your God disciplines you.
6.你要謹守耶和華你 神的誡命，遵行他的道，敬畏他。
Observe the commands of the LORD your God, walking in obedience to him and revering him.
7.因為耶和華你 神領你進入美地，那地有河，有泉，有源，從山谷中流出水來。
For the LORD your God is bringing you into a good land—a land with brooks, streams, and deep springs gushing out into the valleys and hills;
8.那地有小麥、大麥、葡萄樹、無花果樹、石榴樹、橄欖樹和蜜。
a land with wheat and barley, vines and fig trees, pomegranates, olive oil and honey;
9.你在那地不缺食物，一無所缺。那地的石頭是鐵，山內可以挖銅。
a land where bread will not be scarce and you will lack nothing; a land where the rocks are iron and you can dig copper out of the hills.
10.你吃得飽足，就要稱頌耶和華你的 神，因他將那美地賜給你了。
When you have eaten and are satisfied, praise the LORD your God for the good land he has given you.
