勸民敬畏耶和華遵行其道
Fear the LORD
12.「以色列啊，現在耶和華你 神向你要的是甚麼呢？只要你敬畏耶和華你的 神，遵行他的道，愛他，盡心盡性事奉他，
And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God ask of you but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul,
13.遵守他的誡命律例，就是我今日所吩咐你的，為要叫你得福。
and to observe the LORD’s commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good?
14.看哪，天和天上的天，地和地上所有的，都屬耶和華你的 神。
To the LORD your God belong the heavens, even the highest heavens, the earth and everything in it.
15.耶和華但喜悅你的列祖，愛他們，從萬民中揀選他們的後裔，就是你們，像今日一樣。
Yet the LORD set his affection on your ancestors and loved them, and he chose you, their descendants, above all the nations—as it is today.
16.所以你們要將心裏的污穢除掉，不可再硬著頸項。
Circumcise your hearts, therefore, and do not be stiff-necked any longer.
17.因為耶和華你們的 神，他是萬神之神，萬主之主，至大的 神，大有能力，大而可畏，不以貌取人，也不受賄賂。
For the LORD your God is God of gods and LORD of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality and accepts no bribes.
18.他為孤兒寡婦伸冤，又憐愛寄居的，賜給他衣食。
He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing.
19.所以你們要憐愛寄居的，因為你們在埃及地也作過寄居的。
And you are to love those who are foreigners, for you yourselves were foreigners in Egypt.
20.你要敬畏耶和華你的 神，事奉他，專靠他，也要指著他的名起誓。
Fear the LORD your God and serve him. Hold fast to him and take your oaths in his name.
21.他是你所讚美的，是你的 神，為你做了那大可畏的事，你是親眼所看見的。
He is the one you praise; he is your God, who performed for you those great and awesome wonders you saw with your own eyes.
22.你的列祖七十人下埃及；現在耶和華你的 神使你如同天上的星那樣多。
Your ancestors who went down into Egypt were seventy in all, and now the LORD your God has made you as numerous as the stars in the sky.
Love and Obey the LORD
第十一章 Deuteronomy 11
1.「你要愛耶和華你的 神，常守他的吩咐、律例、典章、誡命。
Love the LORD your God and keep his requirements, his decrees, his laws and his commands always.
2.你們今日當知道，我本不是和你們的兒女說話；因為他們不知道，也沒有看見耶和華你們 神的管教、威嚴、大能的手，和伸出來的膀臂，
Remember today that your children were not the ones who saw and experienced the discipline of the LORD your God: his majesty, his mighty hand, his outstretched arm;
3.並他在埃及中向埃及王法老和其全地所行的神蹟奇事；
the signs he performed and the things he did in the heart of Egypt, both to Pharaoh king of Egypt and to his whole country;
4.也沒有看見他怎樣待埃及的軍兵、車馬，他們追趕你們的時候，耶和華怎樣使紅海的水淹沒他們，將他們滅絕，直到今日，
what he did to the Egyptian army, to its horses and chariots, how he overwhelmed them with the waters of the Red Sea[a] as they were pursuing you, and how the LORD brought lasting ruin on them.

5.並他在曠野怎樣待你們，以致你們來到這地方；
It was not your children who saw what he did for you in the wilderness until you arrived at this place,
6.也沒有看見他怎樣待流便子孫以利押的兒子大坍、亞比蘭，地怎樣在以色列人中間開口，吞了他們和他們的家眷，並帳棚與跟他們的一切活物。
and what he did to Dathan and Abiram, sons of Eliab the Reubenite, when the earth opened its mouth right in the middle of all Israel and swallowed them up with their households, their tents and every living thing that belonged to them.
7.惟有你們親眼看見耶和華所做的一切大事。
But it was your own eyes that saw all these great things the LORD has done. |
