After the fireworks last night (or this morning) friends and I exchanged our To-Do list for the year 2011 (now this is something new for me), that we have to write down what we plan to do in year 2011, put the paper into a bag, shuffle it, and each person pick one from the bag. The first time I got my own paper, so we reshuffled the the bag. It was really cold out there by the coastline, so we headed home shortly after the fireworks. I surrendered to my bed a bit after 2am (was planning to stay up and wait for the first sunrise in year 2011, but then that was too challenging for someone like me that loves to sleep more than anything else).
Anyways, I was awaken early this morning (1st January). Sis threatened to drag me out of bed if I go back into my hibernation, so I very reluctantly got up and prepared for the ceremony at the Taiwan Embassy. Honestly I never like this kind of events where I have to stand and listen to the monotone of the speakers and the hosts under the blazing sun (just wait till you come to Belize, you will know how deadly the sun and the heat are). We were practically grilled by the time the speeches were over (anyone wants a medium human steak?). The raffles were drawn, food and snacks were eaten, polite conversations were carried out, chitchats with friends were getting dry, and I was glad that I could finally go home to get my sleep.
After greeting all my new and old friends a Happy New Year, I came home with sis. My eyes were still swollen after the 2 hrs nap, but I had to start preparing the ingredients for the BBQ tonight at our place. For the entire night I stayed in the kitchen preparing meat and vegetables for the grill, and cooking a large pot of creamy corn soup for my friends. It was really tiring, but I got the best rewards of my hard works when I saw my friends enjoying my food.
Every party has to end, and so did ours. Some of our friends have curfews and the rest of us have to go to church tomorrow morning, so we ended the party shortly after 9pm. It was a heck of a 1st January for us. After a mud-pack masque and hot relaxing shower, I am ready to go to bed now.
HAPPY NEW YEAR. WISH YOU A HAPPY 2011 [:D] |
