Lilu called me last week. I have not spoken to her for a year. I don t really know what s going on with her. She didn t pass her job exam so she didn t get a job. I met her in 1996 while I was working in an International Village as an assistant manager. She was kind of my student, but she disappeared from the school after a few months we met. Latter on, I met her again in a vegetarian restaurant. She said that her family didn t give her enough money so she even worked in a night club. Any way, she is not a materialistic girl, but she is naive in a way. I am too, but she is more naive than me. One year, I came back from the U.S., I took her to a temple to meditate. The following year I came back, she became a Buddhist nun. Her health has gotten worse while she was living in the temple. I told her to leave because I believed that she was not happy there. According to the body-mind connection, our bodies only reflect what s going on in our mind. Last year, she called me and told me that she left the temple and became a Christian. The 4 year temple life has left her very little confident to find a job. So I have a crazy thought. I m thinking to put an AD for her. She is tall and thin with a college degree. Most of all, she is thrifty. Her living expenses are very low, only a couple thousands will do.
I still remember she borrowed my golden dress and didn t give back to me in 1996. All these years, I have helped her. I have thought about letting her stay in my apartment and help her find a job in Taichung. However, I am not in a good great position to continue to help her.
