I was getting a manicure yesterday. Michael called if I could sub for him. I turned it down. I seldom turned down any work. I didn t want to rush to the school when my nails were not dried. I only get a manicure and a pedicure once in a blue moon. Last week, my 7-year old NZ girl student got a pedicure before she left for the NZ. I realized I was not good to myself. I only see a hairdresser once or twice a year. I was a housewife so I got into a habit of saving money. I clipped coupons and only bought things on sale in the U.S. Now I want to learn how to pamper myself.
Winnie treated me to a beauty salon to get a full body massage before I go back to the U.S. yesterday morning. The massage was nice, but I m afraid of going to beauty salon. People work there will keep bugging you to buy things from them.
The young hunk called me again. I was very suprised that he asked me out to lunch yesterday morning. I asked for a rain check. I told him that we were from different worlds and I encouraged him to study English. Guess I sound like his mom. He told me in his text that to live in the U.S. for a year or two was his dream. He has a crush on Janet, the hostess from Fun Taiwan. His ex-girlfriend looks like Janet, too. I have no idea why he wanted to see me again. I am not his type, and we don t have anything in common. And I m not into his body. He works out every day. He is a beefcake. But I don t eat beef. I m a vegetarian. I m more attracted to his eyes than his body. He started his company at 22, and made about NT$300,000 monthly. Unfortunately, he went out too often and wasted his money on drinking.
Winnie treated me a breakfast in the coffe shop I usually go this morning. She bursted into tears suddenly and told me that her father died in Feb. She had a problem of letting the pain go. She was my former co-worker long time ago. We still kept in touch all these years. She is very moody. But her boyfiend is from a well-to-do family. They buy luxurious condos in cash. She and her boyfriend have been together over 20 years. Money is always the subject of Taiwanese subject. Have no idea why Taiwanese like to show off their fortunes. I gave her two bottles of St. John s wort, a nature anti-depressant. The herbal supplements have help her a lot.
I m nevrous about the trip to Chicago. It s a routine for me, but every time you meet different people during the journey.
Gonna have lunch with my mom on Thursday. Hope everything is fine.
