The eagle has the longest life-span among birds.
老鷹是鳥類中最長壽的。
It can live up to 70 years.
But to reach this age, the eagle must make a hard decision.
牠可以活到 70 歲。但是，要活到這個年歲，老鷹需經歷很艱苦的決定。
In its 40's
Its' long and flexible talons can no longer grab prey which serves as food.
在40歲左右，牠的爪子長的太長，而且開始變柔軟，不能再抓取獵物供食用。
Its' long and sharp beak becomes bent.
牠的長而尖銳的鷹嘴也開始下彎。
Its' old aged and heavy wings, due to their thick feathers, become stuck to
its' chest and make it difficult to fly.
牠老化又厚重的翅膀，因為羽毛長的太厚，黏積在胸前，很難能再展翅高飛。
THen, the eagle is left with only two options:
Die or go through a painful process of change which lasts 150days.
於是，老鷹只有兩項選擇：或者等死，或者經歷一個150天的痛苦改變過程。
The process requires that the eagle fly to a mountain top and sit on its' nest.
在這個過程裡，老鷹需飛到山頂上，待在巢中。
There the eagle knocks its' beak against a rock until it plucks it out.
老鷹先對著山頂的硬石頭，用力敲打彎曲的尖嘴。
After plucking it out, the eagle will wait for a new beak
to grow back and then it will pluck out its' talons.
老化的鷹嘴敲掉後，等新的尖嘴長出來，再用尖嘴拔除舊爪子。
When its' new talons grow back, the eagle starts plucking its' old-aged feathers.
等新爪長出來後，牠開始啄除掉老化的羽毛。
And after five months, the eagle takes its' famous flight of rebirth and lives for.......30 more years.
經歷這將近五個月的蛻變，牠終於能再次飛翔，還能再活個 30年。
Why is change needed?
Many times, in order to survive we have to start a change process.
為什麼改變是必要的？很多時候，為了生存，我們必需經歷改革的過程。
We sometimes need to get rid of old memories, habits and other past traditions.
有時候，我們需要丟棄掉一些舊的記憶、習慣、和傳統。
Only freed from past burdens, can we take advantage of the present.
唯有丟棄了往昔的負擔，我們才能充分利用現今的好處。
When it rains, most birds head for shelter; the eagle is the only bird that,
in order to avoid the rain, starts flying above the clouds...
天下雨時，大多數鳥都是找遮蔽處躲雨，老鷹是唯一的鳥，
會高飛穿過雲層防雨淋。
An amazing tidbit about the Eagle's eyesight:
The eagle can probably identify a rabbit moving almost a mile away.
That means that an eagle flying at an altitude of 1000 feet over open country
could spot prey over an area of almost 3 square miles from a fixed position.
