In my restless journey form Chicago to Taipei, I met some interesting people. A childless mid-aged Korean couples were going back to Seoul from Florida for the first time in the 20 years to see doctors. A white American lady was going to meet her adopted Taiwanese daughter in an orphanage. A Texas-born old Mexican couples were going to visit their son in Puerto Rico. It is tough to travel with a child by myself. I had to rely on strangers’ kindness in my journey. I will never forget those who give me a hand when I need one. God bless them.
Americans are usually polite to each other even if they are close to each other. Now I am back to Taiwan, I started to hear sentences starting without “ could you?” No matter how old I am, I am still the youngest in the family that I have to take orders from others. I wonder thing would be different if I were a man.
