Avatar (little bit of spoil, so do not read on if you do not want to know anything before you watch the movie. Avatar is a good movie and it is all of about people with superior power and seeking for profit while severely interfering others.
2 points can be drawn.
Firstly, humans on Pandora is destroying Pandora=human on earth is destroying earth.
Secondly, human with superior power is invading one with inferior power on Pandora. Well, Colonisation in the 17th century and the invasion in North and South America and Australia (not to mention Africa) leads to massacre of these indigenous people. They did not do this to China because at 18 century, China is still quite powerful. In addition, they are too many people to kill and the people are not exactly obedient to foreign at the time. But eventually this is done in the late 18 and early 19 century.
Anyhow, Avatar is a cinematic epic movie reflect the greediness of mankind and how un-kind we are to the inferior being..even our own species through the CG created 3D world that we can connect to. My advice it to watch Avatar in 3D and in IMAX...to fully appreciated the special effect.
